About the Costume Gallery Hollywood Dance Competition
What is the Costume Gallery Hollywood Dance Competition?
The Costume Gallery HOLLYWOOD COMP is the ultimate in dance competition. The inaugural tour began in 2007, where dancers from six cities in Australia and New Zealand were able to compete in a friendly, supportive atmosphere, where they were judged by the very best in dance and learned from professionals from the United States.
The comp has a preliminaries and finals format. To find out how to enter and the competition rules, check out the COMPETITION RULES in the Forms section.
Why should I enter?
Because you love to dance, because we offer prizes unlike any other dance comp, because we provide you with positive feedback from working professional judges, because we offer a friendly and supportive atmosphere and courteous customer service... and that’s only the beginning!
Who runs the comp?
The Costume Gallery HOLLYWOOD DANCE COMPETITION is run by two fabulous teams in dance: SOURCEDANCE and DANCEtrain Magazine. The fantastic people at Costume Gallery Australia have again come onboard as our major sponsor. Together, the HOLLYWOOD team members have over 150 years of experience in all areas of the dance industry, which is why they are able to bring you the very best in dance competition.
Who can enter?
Anyone who loves to dance! We encourage people from all dance styles, age groups and abilities to enter. As well as having mainstream dance sections, such as ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and lyrical, we have a ‘specialty’ section so that you can demonstrate to us your abilities in your particular style of dance, whatever that may be!
When and where will the HOLLYWOOD COMP be?
Hollywood Comps will not be held in 2011. We are coming back in 2012 with an AMAZING Competition Event. Watch for details to be announced soon.
We are bringing Erica Sobol and Andye J to Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne and Andye J to the Gold Coast and Brisbane. If you need more information about the workshops - please let us know.
